Gibson J-200 1964 Sunburst Vintage Jumbo Acoustic Guitar w/ OHSC

Gibson J-200 1964 Sunburst Vintage Jumbo Acoustic Guitar w/ OHSC

This vintage Gibson J-200 sounds incredible! This guitar has a flat top jumbo construction and is comprised of a spruce top, maple neck, back, and sides.  This is easily one of the richest, warmest sounding acoustic guitars we've had the pleasure of having here at A Flash Flood of Gear. This example is still sporting its factory-equipped ABR-1 bridge.

This guitar does show quite a bit of cosmetic wear as you would expect from a vintage instrument. There is repaired cracks on the front of the body, these repairs look to be older, we brought this to our trusted luthier, Tom Jacobs, of Jacobs Custom Guitars to evaluate all repair work, and give this a fresh setup and service. The body shows other various scratches, scuffs, and dents all throughout with finish checking along the back of the neck and headstock. The binding around the neck and body has aged significantly from over time and the gold hardware shows normal tarnishing. The bridge is set as low as it will go but the action is still pretty high up on the 12th fret. You could likely lower the action further with a more traditional style bridge, but we will leave this decision up to the player. The frets are used but otherwise still play great.

A passive pickup was added at some point by a previous owner, with the endpin being swapped for an output jack. The guitar otherwise appears to be original.
