Squier SST JV Stratocaster MIJ 1983 Fiesta Red Vintage Fender Japan Fujigen w/ Bag
This is a super cool made in Japan vintage Squier SST Stratocaster with a JV serial! The pencil date on the neck heel is clearly marked to be from 1983, making this Squier one of the earliest examples. This guitar plays and sounds great! The guitar is comprised of an alder body, "C" shape maple neck, and rosewood fretboard.
This guitar does show some cosmetic wear from over the years that includes various surface scratches, scuffs, dents, and finish cracks throughout the body with additional scratches along the back of the neck and headstock. There's also quite a bit of finish wear throughout the body, particularly underneath the guard, and a white splotch located on the lower side of the body. The white splotch may be indicative of a hole that was later filled. There is evidence of prior routes under the pickguard that were later filled. Parts of the body were at some point painted over, though that has since been removed to reveal its original Fiesta Red finish. The hardware also shows light tarnishing from over time. This guitar was received largely in its current state, so we are doing our best good-faith effort to describe what evidence we see of prior work, this guitar has definitely lived an interesting life! The frets are used but still play great overall and the electronics work as they should.
The pickguard, tremolo arm, and plastics have all been replaced. The pickups are older USA cloth wire Fender pickups used for higher tier Fender Japan guitars, they are not original here. This guitar otherwise appears to be original.
