Fender Stratocaster 1972 Sunburst Vintage USA 3-Bolt w/ Case
This is a super cool vintage Fender Stratocaster that plays and sounds great! This one has aged very nicely from over time. This example has obviously been well taken care of. Aside from an upgrade to a 5 way switch, this guitar retains all its original parts. The pickups sound fantastic, with lots of bite in the bridge position, the classic Strat chime in the middle, and a warm neck pickup sound. The neck is extremely comfortable! This is a fine example of why the 1972 Stratocaster is being reissued to this day.
This guitar does show quite a bit of cosmetic wear from over the years that includes various surface scratches, scuffs, dents, and chips throughout the body with additional dings along the back of the neck and headstock. The hardware also shows normal tarnishing and the pickguard has yellowed from over time. The back spring cover is chipped in the corner. There's also light finish checking throughout the body and front of the headstock. The frets are used and have flattened out from over time but otherwise still play well overall. The electronics work as they should.
There is a note on the back of the pickguard that this was "Rewired to Standard Aug '87" This is likely when the 5 way switch was added. This guitar otherwise appears to be original.
